Atlanta
Motor Speedway sits just 25 miles south of Atlanta, and is one
of NASCAR's most sought-after destinations. This speedway is
one of the most fan-friendly tracks on the circuit, has great
tailgating, features plenty of three-wide racing -- and
there's not a bad seat in the house. What more could you ask
for? Atlanta Motor Speedway is host to movie credits
including the opening scenes of the 1980 movie Smokey and the Bandit
II which were filmed at the track. Former US President
Jimmy
Carter once worked as a ticket taker at the track. AMS
is one of the fastest tracks in the series because teams do not use
restrictor plates.
